Relaxing outside our awning at Haven. Yes, the sun did shine on us there. For a while anyway!
On Sunday we stumbled into a 50's ROck n Roll Weekend in Lowestoft and everyone was all dressed up in the style and there were loads of 50's cars and music playing. Very sunny but a cool wind kept temps down. there were some fab costumes and many of them obviously original!!
Katie had great fun taking pics of all the cars and she liked this one especially. Can't remember what it was but I'm sure some of you may know it.
WE asked this lady if she would let us take her picture with Katie and she went one better and let Katie wear her Pink Ladies jacket. She was lovely and said that her and her hubby were big 50's fans and their first date was to see Grease in 1978. How Romantic!!!
On Monday we went into Great Yarmouth to find the famous Docwras Rock shop and whata delight that was!! WE watched them rollong the pink rock and then from start to rolling of a special batch of rock for...... see below!!!
Making the letters for the inside!
Special batch for Broadstairs!! whatever and wherever that is!! I have this piece of rock in the van. Iasked the man some questions and he cut off the back curly looking bit and gave me the bit with the name in it. It's about 8 inches wide and almost 2 inches high so you can imagine the size of the stick of rock that went into the roller to squeeze it all down. Fascinating!!
On Tuesday we went to Wroxham and hired a motor launch to cruise the Norfolk Broads for a couple of hours and we had to put the top up 3 times as it rained quite heavily but it didn't stop us enjoying ourselves and when the sun did shine it was glorious.
This is a view taken in one of the Little Broads that can be accessed from the main river/canal. Very quiet there so the kids all had a shot of driving the boat and doind some crazy circles and reversing and stuff. I was a little scared one of them might dump us all in the water but we were fine!!
