One Week On

Well, it's nearly a full week since we left home and the weather is doing it's darndest to beat us down again. So far we've been to Great Yarmouth and had to have our picnic in the car and head back early because of the rain.
We went to Lowestoft on Sunday and walked into the middle of a 50's rock n roll weekend with loads of 50's cars and folk dressed up in the style. It was great fun but although the sun was shining it was blowing a gale and we got well and truly sandblasted from the beach. Katie had lots of fun with my camera snapping pics of every fancy car she could see and we even asked one lady dressed like a "Pink Lady" if we could take her pic with Katie. she readily agreed and gave Katie her jacket to wear. I'll post the pics on here later if I can get them to upload.
Tim and the other 2 didn't quite enjoy it so much and stood sheltering at a shelter on the promenade.
We didn't stay very long as the wind was just too strong for it to be enjoyable but we did see the Lifeboat crew being summoned out by the "maroons" (Explosive flares sent up for the purpose of alerting the crew to station). Turned out it was a demo for their fundraising day.
Yesterday we headed for Wroxham and hired a little launch for 2 hours cruising the broads and only had to put up the rain cover on the boat 3 times - lol but even that was fun.
Today has been raining all day but the rain has varied from steady showers to light drizzle but never actually reached what we would call heavy rain. We did a little shopping and went for a walk to feed the resident llamas at the site gates and the girls have spent all day in the pool bar the 2 hours it was closed at lunchtime. They're all shrivelled and smell of chlorine now lol. They will sleep well tonight.
I did a washing this morning and hung it all outside and needless to say within the hour the rain had started so it's all inside the awning just now and if it's not anywhere near dry in the morning i'm going to have to admit defeat and get a tumble drier. We got this rotary airer last year and this is really the first time we've used it and as you can imagine I was chuffed about not having to pay for a tumble drier. Famous last words, eh?

WE've had a couple of dropouts for our meet up at the weekend and one was due to the weather another to work commitments so fingers crossed no-one else will. Looking forward to seeing friends again and having a bit of a "tea" party with my mate Gail. Provided her poorly car can limp along to the site.
Please keep everything crossed for us that the weather will at leaser allow us to have a good second week in Yorkshire.
Having said all that we have enjoyed it so far and best bits are definitely relaxing in the awning of an evening with a glass or 3 of wine and waking up in the morning to a cup of coffee outside the awning. Been nice in the early mornings so far.
Anyway hope you're all behaving yourselves and I'l post more soon. Does anyone know if I can access this posting thingy offline to save our download time.

Have a lovely day!
